Pharaoh’s Wife Ancient Tomb Was Discovered

Egypt’s 3,500-year-old tomb discovered there may be that of the wife of the pharaoh.

A 3,500-year-old tomb has been found in Luxor, Egypt, on the west bank of the Nile.
The first elements discovered by scientists indicate that it belongs to the XVIII dynasty (1550–1292 BC).

According to Piers Litherland of the University of Cambridge, the tomb may belong to one of the pharaoh’s wives or a princess, the publication says, citing his interview with The Time. But the researcher ruled out the possibility that Nefertiti, the wife of Akhenaten and the stepmother of Tutankhamun, rests

The tomb was poorly preserved; it was partially destroyed due to floods in antiquity, and the burial chambers were then covered with sand and limestone deposits.
Whether the coffin was found inside the tomb is unknown.

Queen Nefertiti

The origins of Queen Nefertiti are uncertain. It is believed that she is the daughter of Ay, the army commander, and her nurse. She was the wife of Minister Ay, who is likely to be a brother of Queen Tiye. I never mentioned him as Abu Nefertiti. Although there are references indicating that the image of Nefertiti’s sister, Mut Notjemet, was decorated with Ay’s tomb,

The worship of the new god Aton, the power of the sun disk, was shared by Queen Nefertiti and her husband, and she and her husband were the mediators between the people and Aten. It is assumed that full blessing will be granted only when the royal couple unites, and during the first years of her husband’s rule, Nefertiti changed her name to Neferneferaton Nefertiti, which means “Aten” He shines because the beauty has come.”

Nefertiti is reminiscent of the bust of her depicted face carved on a piece of limestone in one of the finest pieces of art from the ancient era, and it is the most famous image of Queen Nefertiti. It was found by the German Egyptologist Ludwig Borchardt on December 6, 1912, in the workshop of Thutmose the sculptor in Tell el-Amarna.

Borchardt fled the complete (unscratched) statue to his home in the Zamalek district of Cairo, and from there he smuggled it to Germany, hidden among smashed pieces of pottery of no value and sent to Berlin for restoration.

There is another statue of Nefertiti’s head in the Egyptian Museum, made of red quartz and decorated with touches of ink. It is no less accurate than the head in Berlin, but it is less famous.

Among the royal titles of Nefertiti, the great royal wife, was the fact that she bore Akhenaten six daughters.
