nBut on this date in 2015 he opened an “art project” that was a bit like a twisted, evil version of an amusement park. “Dismaland” was prepared in secret in a coastal resort town in England, Weston-super-Mare. It consisted of ten new works by Banksy plus lots of works by 58 other artists. Tickets were sold to the general public for a mere 3 pounds each, and visitors could stroll around and see the various 2-D, 3-D, and performance-art pieces. The whole place closed, as planned, 36 days after it opened.
