He might have had all the gadgets, all the ladies and all the knowledge to defeat the bad guys hell-bent on world domination, but there’s one thing Sean Connery’s James Bond didn’t have.
His hair.
Sean Connery played the famous spy for seven movies, including Dr. No, Goldfinger and Thunderball, beginning his career as Bond in 1962.
And his Bond always had perfectly coiffured hair. In real life though, that one element was missing.
At least, it was diminishing.
So if you ever thought his barnet looked slightly odd, or even too good to be true, that’s because it was.
When Connery appeared as Bond he was wearing a toupee, every time.
But how did we even miss this fact? A Redditor has pointed out that it clearly states on his Wikipedia page that he had collection of wigs for his time as Bond, because he’d begun balding at the age of 21.
And, after a quick Google, it’s a little fact often used in lists of things we didn’t know.
YET WE STILL DIDN’T KNOW THIS.
We’ll never look at Bond the same way again.
