I changed my name almost six times before settling down on one, says Govinda on The Kapil Sharma Show

Govinda, who recently guest-starred on The Kapil Sharma Show with wife Sunita Ahuja and daughter Tina Ahuja, shared some treasured family secrets with the audience. One of the leading Bollywood actors during the ’90s, Govinda revealed that before entering the industry, he had changed his name as many as six times. “Yes, I changed my name almost six times before settling down on one. My earlier names were Govind Raj, Raj Govind, Arun Govind and then I finally stuck to Govinda,” the 55-year-old actor shared.
He also went on to reveal that he learnt acting from the late acting guru Roshan Taneja, took dance lesson from Saroj Khan and learnt everything action from Ramji during his struggling days. “Not one of them ever took a penny from me,” he said, adding that he tried to pay them back by honing his craft. On a lighter note, his daughter revealed that she calls her father ‘sleeping beauty’. she said, “Dad can sleep anywhere anytime. He takes more time to get ready and is very conscious about his looks. He keeps himself up to date all the time.”
Govinda was quick to counter her, stating that his work hasn’t let him sleep in the last 25 years. Interestingly, Sunita immediately agreed to this admission. “I head to bed at 10 pm but Govinda doesn’t sleep. He finally goes to bed around 2 am and then wakes up by 4 am in the morning,” she said about her husband.
