If you believe it is okay to own a gun you are not free. You are certainly not free and you live in a world of fear and anxiety.
Many Americans feel the need to arm themselves against other people and against our government—the government we move into and out of office—is far more tragic than the tragedy at Sandy Hook. That argument is sad and pathetic that we don’t even trust the people we elect to public office, whose job it is to protect and serve us. What is wrong with Americans? Why elect our government if we don’t trust it? What is the need to raise arms against the government we elected when we have the power with our votes?
Freedom doesn’t wait for the remote possibility of someone kicking down your door with a gun hiding under your couch in your home. Being able to carry a concealed firearm without worrying about being attacked by an unexpected assailant is not freedom. It is not freedom to be afraid to leave your home because you are worried that someone will take something or hurt you.
The problem isn’t with guns; It is an addiction that many Americans suffer from. The fact that all evidence indicates that owning and carrying a firearm puts you and others at risk of harm gives a person a strong, invincible, and most crucially, false sense of security. Guns first started out as hazardous materials.
The paranoid belief that many Americans have—that they can be safe with a gun—is bad for our country, and we all need group counseling. We are victims of our own mental demons and are emotionally and psychologically conditioned. The only thing that is calm and free is the mind. No matter how many weapons we have, we have no freedom in this country.
