Depression
Depression is a mental health condition where the sufferer experiences low mood, feeling worthless, and a lack of concentration. Complications of depression, such as obesity, illness, anxiety, panic, or fear, family conflict, social isolation, suicidal feelings, self-mutilation or punishment, and premature death, are evident.
Tests and diagnosis
A doctor looks for health problems, which may include hereditary diseases and infections. For this, the doctor may recommend a complete blood test. A depressed employee is referred by the employer for psychological evaluation. A doctor will diagnose the type of depression and treat it accordingly.

Standard treatment for depression includes medication and psychological counselling (therapy). Collaborative and coordinated work with affected family members and the community is crucial for successful treatment of depression.
