In a recent appearance on the Flagrant podcast, former biotech executive Vivek Ramaswamy didn’t hold back in his criticism of former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, calling her a product of the “deep state.” Ramaswamy, who recently ended his White House bid and endorsed Donald Trump, expressed his views on Haley during an engaging conversation on the popular podcast hosted by US comedians Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh.

Ramaswamy, the 38-year-old tech billionaire, gained attention for his longshot bid for the White House, but it failed to gain enough momentum in the GOP’s first nominating contest in Iowa. When questioned about his opinion on Nikki Haley, he took the opportunity to express his strong sentiments, asserting that the “corporate press” favors her and highlighting what he sees as her primary motivation: “personal power.” Agreeing with the podcast hosts, Ramaswamy stated that Nikki “has an insane lust for power.”

The former biotech executive did not mince words when discussing Haley’s alignment with Corporate America. According to Ramaswamy, her stance is centered on “whatever it takes to accumulate an added ounce of money and power.” He continued, stating that the approach involves using ideology as a means to project American power, a philosophy he believes weakens the nation in the pursuit of creating an illusion of strength. Ramaswamy expressed concerns about potential consequences, including foreign wars and the development of a domestic surveillance state.

In the podcast, Ramaswamy went further, labeling both Nikki Haley and US President Joe Biden as products of the “deep state,” a term he frequently employs to describe the American bureaucracy. Throughout the two-hour discussion, he delved into various topics, touching on wokeness, the Republican agenda, concerns about the FBI, and the United States’ involvement in foreign wars. When asked about the possibility of becoming the US Vice President under Trump, Ramaswamy maintained a thoughtful stance, stating, “We are thinking things through, man.” He emphasized the need to figure out the roles both he and Trump would play, whether inside or outside the government.

Born in Ohio to immigrant parents from India, Ramaswamy emerged as a surprise contender in the 2024 Republican race dominated by former President Trump. Recognized for his staunch defense of Trump, youthful demeanor, and adept debating skills, Ramaswamy positioned himself as a noteworthy figure in Republican politics. Despite Trump’s later criticism, Ramaswamy endorsed Trump as an “America-first” candidate. In his victory speech after the Iowa caucus, Trump congratulated Ramaswamy, acknowledging his contributions to the campaign.
